WhiteCoat Ranks Among The Best Places To Work In Singapore
WhiteCoat ranks among Singapore’s top 45 workplaces, according to global people
analytics and consulting firm Great Place To Work®.
To determine the 2022 Singapore’s Best WorkplacesTM️, Great Place To Work analysed
confidential survey feedback representing close to 70,000 employees across diverse
industries in Singapore.
WhiteCoat Holdings Pte. Ltd. (“WhiteCoat” or “the Group”), Southeast Asia’s leading
digital health company, has been named one of Singapore’s best workplaces, according to
results of a Trust Index survey administered by Great Place To Work, which gathers data
on employees’ experiences in the workplace.
WhiteCoat is the only company in the digital health space to achieve this in ASEAN. The
award was given during a Gala Dinner which concluded the two-day ASEAN Greater Summit
held by Great Place To Work ASEAN & ANZ. It was graced by Heng Swee Keat, Singapore’s
Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies, and attended by
close to 450 guests across ASEAN. A total of 45 companies were awarded as Singapore’s
Best Workplaces, and Great Place To Work selected the list using rigorous analytics and
confidential employee feedback.
The award comes soon after WhiteCoat Founder & Chief Executive Officer Bryan Koh
clinched the Action Community for Entrepreneurship (Ace) Youth Sub-Committee Under 35
Awards 2022, where he was one of 10 honourees under the age of 35 who were lauded for
their contributions to the Singapore startup ecosystem earlier this month. Ace was set
up in 2003 by the Ministry of Trade and Industry in Singapore and relaunched in 2014 as
a private sector-led non-profit organisation, to be the national voice for the Singapore
startup ecosystem, and a key trade association representing the interests of startups in
Singapore.
Said Mr Koh on WhiteCoat ranking as one of the best workplaces in Singapore: “This
accolade is a true affirmation of the company and its people-centric culture because it
comes directly from our staff, who provided feedback on their working experience at
WhiteCoat to an independent third party assessing the working experience of employees at
workplaces globally. In a post-COVID-19 world where we have had to re-imagine workplace
practices at an unprecedented pace and tackle tough questions such as the great
resignation and quiet-quitting, we are glad to emerge top in our category.
“Many in the WhiteCoat team had it especially tough in the last two years during the
COVID-19 pandemic, often toiling over time into the wee hours to ensure that patients,
including those suffering from COVID-19, were able to receive the medical attention and
treatment they needed to recover from their illnesses. Our people form the backbone to
our execution of our core purpose of driving sustainability and impact in healthcare. It
is our team’s indomitable spirit, coupled with their dedication to our purpose, that has
allowed the sick to trust in our care. I’m immensely thankful to be working with such a
selfless and tight knit team for our community, and am excited to see how Great Place To
Work’s processes can help us shape the future of work.”
According to the survey findings, 96 per cent of WhiteCoat feel a sense of pride at what
the
company has achieved to-date. This includes expansion into overseas markets such as
Indonesia, and the development of a full suite of healthcare services that covers
primary care, specialist care such as paediatrics, and allied care services such as
mental wellness
programmes, all of which are aligned with the nation’s HealthierSG strategies.
An overwhelming 100 per cent of WhiteCoat also believe that employees are treated
fairly,
regardless of their gender and race, with another 98 per cent sharing that fair
treatment is also demonstrated regardless of age.
Overall, 92 per cent of WhiteCoat employees say it is a great place to work, compared to
53 per cent of employees at a typical global company, according to Great Place To Work.
Evelyn Kwek, Managing Director of Great Place To Work ASEAN and ANZ, said: “We are proud
to honour companies that have built great workplaces for all, through inclusive
practices and continuous investment in their employees, while navigating yet another
challenging year. By doing so, they have created a high-trust and high-performing
workplace culture with employees who are more engaged at work, higher enterprise
resilience and thriving businesses amid uncertainties. We hope that these companies will
continue leading the way, to inspire more companies to create diverse and inclusive
workplaces, and empower everyone to achieve their highest potential.”
Added Mr Koh: “As WhiteCoat grows at a faster pace than before and across regional
markets, it will be even more important that we build our company on the core tenets of
diversity, inclusion, and purpose, so that WhiteCoat can serve as the first and single
touchpoint for all our users’ health and wellness needs. We believe that embracing these
values as part of our culture will help us retain and attract talents, and help our
people thrive and grow as we continue to scale in Southeast Asia.”
