WhiteCoat: The Region’s Healthcare Passport
Said Bryan Koh, WhiteCoat Founder & Chief Executive Officer, “WhiteCoat’s 12 consecutive
quarters of revenue growth is testament to a growing and sustained demand for digital
healthcare and the access, quality and convenience which WhiteCoat brings.
“Our regional aspirations are to bring our made-in-Singapore brand to the region,
providing our users the same premium level of healthcare access regardless of where they
are in Southeast Asia. WhiteCoat will be the region’s healthcare passport where users,
armed with our app, will be able to see a doctor and access myriad quality healthcare
services anytime, anywhere. We want to empower the region to take better care of their
health by providing healthcare literally within their fingertips through a single
touchpoint.”
WhiteCoat currently operates in Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam, and works with an over
1,000-strong network of health and wellness providers comprising general practitioners,
specialists, allied healthcare professionals and pharmacies, to provide digital health
services to over 1.5 million lives in the region. The Group is looking to further expand
into new markets in the region, such as Malaysia and Thailand. It will also be enhancing
its health and wellness offerings, such as specialist care and mental wellness.
Driving Profitability and Sustainable Growth
In 2022, WhiteCoat completed over 400,000 consultations and medication deliveries, with
revenue jumping three times from a year ago. It is targeting to turn profitable by the
end of the year in Singapore.
As part of Singapore’s thriving digital economy, the Group will continue to tap local
talent to drive growth. It will also seek local and regional partnerships with payers
such as insurers and corporates, as well as healthcare providers, to continue to spur
digital transformation in the healthcare sector.
Said Mr Koh, “Setting up our regional headquarters in Singapore will allow us to tap the
strong ecosystem of tech and business talents here and bring them together to cross
pollinate ideas and further innovation in the healthcare sector. We thought through our
space requirements and believe that our 8,000 square feet headquarters, which caters
room for calibrated expansion, will help us to grow sustainably over the next few years.
“As WhiteCoat continues to seek expansion in Singapore and in the region, we are mindful
that it should not be growth-at-all-cost. Over the years this principle has guided us,
from launching services with good market fit to quality user acquisition and market
entry.
“We are in a strong position to become the first digital healthcare provider
headquartered in Singapore to reach profitability through organic growth and will
continue to contribute meaningfully to our evolving healthcare landscape through digital
innovation.”
