WhiteCoat Clinches Singapore’s Top Startups Accolade At Inaugural Ace Startup Awards 2023
WhiteCoat Holdings Pte. Ltd. (“WhiteCoat” or “the Group”), Southeast Asia’s leading
digital healthcare company, has been recognised as one of Singapore’s top 10 startups by
the Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE), a key trade association for startups
under the Ministry of Trade and Industry Singapore.
The award, held for the first time in conjunction with ACE’s 20th Anniversary Gala
Dinner, celebrates the outstanding achievements of fast-growing startups which have
excelled in providing innovative and scalable services with a positive impact to
society.
Said Bryan Koh, Founder & CEO of WhiteCoat, on the Group’s win: “We are honoured to be
recognised at the inaugural ACE Startup Awards 2023 and be part of a wider community of
Singapore brands that have been able to adapt their blueprint for success regionally.
Today, access to our omnichannel healthcare services is available to a base of over 1.5
million users literally at their fingertips, regardless of where they are across
Southeast Asia.
“We have accelerated growth by over three times in the past year, as we continue to see
rising demand and adoption of our technology and services beyond the pandemic. By
connecting users, care providers and payers through our unified digital platform, we
create an accessible and seamless care journey for the key stakeholders in the
healthcare ecosystem.”
Said Florence Neo, Chief Executive Officer of ACE: “WhiteCoat is an exemplary company
which has leveraged technology and innovation to create new products and digital
experiences in the healthcare space. Guided by the principle that it is made in
Singapore, for the world, it is part of the nation’s thriving digital landscape - a
vibrant virtual ecosystem of goods and services that transcends physical boundaries, and
represents the digital economy that we are progressing Singapore towards.”
WhiteCoat was founded in 2018 in Singapore to bring together Southeast Asia’s fragmented
healthcare industry through the creation of a market-first, proprietary digital
healthcare platform that would serve as the first and single touchpoint for all the
health needs of its users.
By adopting a B2B2C approach, WhiteCoat works with the region’s leading payer partners
such as AIA, the largest insurer in Asia Pacific, to provide payer-covered telemedicine
benefits to consumers. The Group has quickly become one of the region’s leading digital
care providers, offering a continuum of online and in-person care across primary,
specialist, and allied health such as mental wellness.
“As we grow the business, it is imperative that we focus on a path to profitability as
opposed to a growth-at-all-cost strategy. We are on track to be profitable in our core
market Singapore this year. This is an important milestone that is testament to the
strengths of our unique B2B2C model and its ability to be commercially sustainable while
allowing us to provide affordable and accessible high-quality care to our users,” added
Mr Koh.
WhiteCoat is also looking to further expand into new markets in the region such as
Malaysia and Thailand. The Group is currently in Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam, where
it has an over 3,000- strong network of health and wellness professionals and
pharmacies. It will also continue to enhance its service offerings, especially in the
areas of specialist and allied care.
“The award affirms our efforts to be the region’s chosen digital healthcare provider,
and reflects the dedication of the WhiteCoat team to pushing boundaries over the past
five years. WhiteCoat will continue to be a transformative force in Southeast Asia’s
healthcare landscape through continued innovation and tech-enablement, to be the
one-stop provider for all health needs in the region,” said Mr Koh.
